ACM Europe Awards Group

Group Overview

The ACM Europe Council aims to increase the level and visibility of ACM activities across Europe. This can be achieved by increasing the number of European researchers being awarded by ACM.

The ACM Europe Awards group was established with the goal of increasing the number of European researchers nominated to ACM awards, leveraging the extensive activity of the ACM in this area.

The group will liaise with holders of ACM awards for advice and when possible add them to the group.

The awards focused by this group are mainly the ones listed in the ACM awards website. The group does not focus on the nomination to advanced member grades, since this activity is undertaken by the ACM Europe Fellows group.

Group Activities

The ACM Europe Awards group performs the following activities:

  • Identification of European researchers with strong profiles that can become awards' nominees.
  • Identification of suitable award(s) for each individual potential nominee.
  • Identification of a potential nominator, taking into account the nominee and the object of the award.
  • Provide support to nominators in all the process of the nomination.
  • Liaise with SIGs connected to the AW members to increase nominations of European researchers to SIG awards.
  • Publicize the ACM awards at European events, such as conferences and ACM schools, as well as through other dissemination means.
